Yes, it's us again! Now it’s less than two weeks until NordicFuzzCon begins. To assist you with some practicalities we are sending you this e-mail to help you prepare for the convention, hopefully making the convention-going experience as smooth as possible for you.

Hotel information

1. Eco stay (new hotel concept)
Cleaning is every other day. Money saved from chemicals is partially donated to Hållbara Hav. https://stiftelsenhallbarahav.org

We ask you to please use the recycle bins located in the hallways.

2. Room sharing
If you are in a non-single room and either do not have a room share or are in a room share which hasn’t been filled, randomly selected attendees will fill the vacant spots. You are now able to see the person you will be sharing a room with on the website.

3. Checking in
You can check into your hotel room from 15:00. You can check into your room as late as you want. If you are arriving later than midnight, please contact the hotel reception by e-mail a few days prior to arrival: infracity@scandichotels.com

If you wish to check-in earlier, there is an option to pay 150 SEK during check-in at the hotel reception desk to receive the room in 45 minutes (based on availability).

4. Checking out
If you wish to check out later than 10:00 (normal check-out), there is an option to pay 150 SEK to have the check-out time prolonged by two hours, effectively changing the check-out time to 12:00. This can be done on location at the reception desk up until the check-out day at 10:00.

5. Parking
The hotel has a parking garage available for guests which costs 100 SEK/day. There is also parking outside of the hotel which costs about the same; please inquire at the reception desk when you arrive.

If you are staying at Scandic Upplands Väsby (Second Hotel), then your parking is included in your room price (based on availability).

6. Breakfast
This meal is included with your hotel room.

Scandic Infra City: Breakfast will be open from 8:00 until 11:00 during the convention.

Scandic Upplands Väsby: Breakfast on weekdays until 9:30 and a lighter breakfast selection from 9:30 until 11:00 for the NordicFuzzCon guests. Saturday and Sunday, the breakfast is until 11:00. Please inquire at the reception desk during check-in in case of changes.


Transportation

1. FuzzBus
If you have a ticket for the FuzzBus, you can find the departure times on the website: https://www.nordicfuzzcon.org/Venue/FuzzBus

If you don't have a ticket but still want to join the bus, you can show up at the pick-up point before the departure time to inquire about available seats. You will be able to purchase a ticket there, but there is no guarantee that there will be available seats.

If you have a seat already reserved, you will be given your ticket as you board the bus. There is no need to print anything in advance.

2. Other transportation alternatives
There are other means to get to the hotel, which include taxi and public transportation. You can find more information about those on the website: https://www.nordicfuzzco.../Venue/TravelInformation

3. Transportation between hotels
For quick and easy transportation between the main venue hotel and the second hotel, we offer a shuttle bus service that’s free to use for all our attendees.

Convention

1. Bring valid photo ID!
Remember to bring a valid photo ID. They are required when you sign in as an attendee at the registration desk, and they may be required at the hotel's reception desk when you are assigned your room. Passports are the best form of ID document.

2. Swedish krona
Cash in SEK/Swedish krona will be needed for any payments at the NordicFuzzCon registration desk, the Art Show, and for any donations you may wish to make to the charity. Most dealers in the Dealers' Den will also require cash, but some may accept digital options (PayPal, Swish, others) or non-Swedish currencies. This is up to each individual dealer in the Den.
Make sure that you have the correct Swedish currency with you.

3. Opening ceremony
The opening ceremony will start on Wednesday, February 27th at 15:00. This is the big event that officially kicks off the convention.

5. Where’s my convention ticket?
No “convention ticket” is needed! If you have registered for the convention you are in our database, and a valid ID will identify you as you. You can view your registration here: https://www.nordicfuzzcon.org/Account

6. First furry convention?
As a first timer it might be hard to know where to be and what to do at the convention. A lot of things are happening everywhere. Below are a few key times for events where you, as a first timer, can get some useful information about the convention or meet some interesting people.
  • Opening Ceremony, Wednesday at 15:00 on Main Stage
  • So This Is Your First Furry Con?, Wednesday at 16:30 (shortly after the opening ceremony) on Main Stage
  • The snack exchange, Friday at 11:30 in the Event hall lobby
  • A meet and greet (see the schedule)
  • A Charity or Guest of Honour/Northern Light event (see the schedule)
  • We also recommend that you look through the printed material you are given when you sign in at the registration desk, as it may contain useful information. If you have any questions during the convention, then ConOps is the place to turn to.

7. Social media
This year we have both an Android and a new iPhone app. You can download them from their respective app stores.

8. Food, fika and drinks
We have the following options available throughout the convention.

At Scandic Infra City, specific NordicFuzzCon opening times.
  • Waffles at the bar: Wednesday to Sunday 11:00 - 22:00.
  • Maid Café: Thursday 16:00 - 20:00, Friday 15:00 - 19:00, Saturday 14:00 - 18:00 (featuring several Swedish classics)
  • The bar is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 - 01:00.

Dinner (Tuesday-Sunday)
  • Taco buffet on Thursday between 17:00 - 22:00. (Based on availability, so try to be early)
  • Pasta buffet is available during all days between 17:00 - 22:00 except Thursday. (Based on availability, so try to be early)
  • À la carte is available during all days between 17:00 - 22:00 except Thursday.

Other nearby food sources include: Subway, Max, Thai, Italian, Pizzeria, a local supermarket, to name a few.
